Why choose ZIZ?

As soon as you have finished online, you can walk into one of our locations without an appointment. You will be seen straight away.

If the test shows that you have an STI, you come back and receive the right treatment straight away, free of charge.

To make sure your test result is ready within 30–90 minutes, every ZIZ location has its own laboratory on site.

Our labs are small, but they meet the same quality standards as laboratories for GPs and hospitals (ISO 15189). That way we deliver not only a fast result, but a reliable one.

At ZIZ there are no hidden costs afterwards. You pay one price.

ZIZ is a recognised healthcare provider (AGB code: 22227884) with direct contracts with all health insurers. It was set up in 2022 by healthcare professionals with the simple aim of making STI care and PrEP care faster, better and more accessible for everyone.

That is why we are a not-for-profit foundation. Stichting ZIZ has no shareholders or private equity backers who need to earn back their investment. This allows us to offer you the best STI care at the lowest possible cost.

STI care at ZIZ is around 60% cheaper than the same care through your GP or a commercial provider.

There are three reasons for this:

1. For every appointment at ZIZ, your health insurer contributes €32, without this affecting your compulsory excess. This is a unique arrangement with health insurers that only ZIZ has.

2. Treatment is included as standard at ZIZ and does not lead to extra costs.

3. At ZIZ, efficiency comes first: the whole care process is managed in house instead of being split between several parties.

The costs for diagnostics at the GP are based on the average prices of three large GP laboratories (STAR-SHL, Eurofins and Clinical Diagnostics). The costs for treatment are based on medicijnkosten.nl plus the pharmacy's dispensing fee for a first prescription.
